the official blog of the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District

Since 1989, Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) has distributed funds from a 1/10 of 1% sales and use tax to cultural facilities throughout the seven-county Denver, Colorado metropolitan area. The funds support cultural facilities whose primary purpose is to enlighten and entertain the public through the production, presentation, exhibition, advancement and preservation of art, music, theatre, dance, zoology, botany, natural history and cultural history.

Celebrate Food Day!

Yesterday Sheila and I went to lunch at Denver Botanic Gardens.  Sounds strange doesn’t it?  Really it was the best lunch I’ve had in a long while and a great way to celebrate 80 degree weather!  Denver Botanic Gardens put on quite a show from morning to night and all free to the public.  Classes on nutrition, canning, and FREE LUNCH, Taste of Colorado watch out!  Lots of yummy samples from local delicious restaurants like Vesta Dipping Grill, Snooze, Avenue Grill, and Black Pearl.  Then you could take your lunch outside and enjoy the gardens.  It was like foodie heaven.  Really the day was dedicated to living a delicious healthy lifestyle, and Denver Botanic Gardens really did a great job of showing how healthy can be fun and delicious.  Thanks DBG, you amaze me.
