Since 1989, Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) has distributed funds from a 1/10 of 1% sales and use tax to cultural facilities throughout the seven-county Denver, Colorado metropolitan area. The funds support cultural facilities whose primary purpose is to enlighten and entertain the public through the production, presentation, exhibition, advancement and preservation of art, music, theatre, dance, zoology, botany, natural history and cultural history.

5 Points Jazz Fest…Mmm Mmm Good

This Saturday, get out your dancing shoes for toe-tapping local jazz like you wouldn’t believe.  Rain or shine, the Five Points Jazz Festival celebrates the music, culture, and history of Denver’s Five Points neighborhood.  All performances are FREE and held at numerous venues along Welton Street in downtown Denver from 1-8pm.

And don’t forget to bring cash for delicious food to keep your energy up throughout the day (turkey legs, sweet potato fries, and fried shrimp oh my!).

Five Points Jazz Festival is a program of Arts & Venues Denver (formerly the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs), a Tier III SCFD organization.
